Sarfira 4 Days Collections

Akshay Kumar’s film Sarfira, a Hindi adaptation of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru, which won a National Award, experienced a disappointing performance on its initial Monday despite an increase in earnings over the weekend. Directed by Sudha Kongara, Sarfira hit theaters on Friday, July 12. As per early estimates from industry trackers, Sarfira earned Rs 1.40 crore on its first Monday (July 15). The movie witnessed a 70 percent surge in earnings on Saturday, raking in Rs 4.50 crore. Sunday saw a further 20 percent growth, with earnings reaching Rs 6 crore. Despite this, the film had a poor opening day, marking Akshay’s worst debut in 15 years.

Akshay Kumar portrays an ambitious entrepreneur in Sarfira, his 150th movie. Despite this, it has been one of the least successful films in Akshay Kumar’s career. Nevertheless, it is outperforming Selfiee (2023), Akshay’s collaboration with Emraan Hashmi, which had a weaker opening weekend (Rs 10.3 crore) compared to Sarfira, when compared to all of Akshay’s recent films. Sarfira draws inspiration from the life of Capt Gopinath, the creator of Deccan Airlines, and features Radhika Madaan, Paresh Rawal, and Seema Biswas in significant roles.

Sarfira recorded an overall occupancy of 11.63 percent on Monday, with the majority of the audience attending the movie’s night show. There were 390 shows in Mumbai, and the occupancy rate was 10.50 percent. Meanwhile, in Delhi and NCR, the occupancy rate was 11.25 percent with 525 shows. In southern India, viewers showed more interest in Kamal Haasan’s poorly received Indian 2, which was also released on July 12. Sarfira’s net total stands at Rs 14.40 crore.
