It is widely known that the sequel to the 2022 Tamil blockbuster film Sardar, starring Karthi in the lead role, is in the making. With Sardar 2 under production, the producers are announcing the cast members one by one. Recently, the team welcomed back Rajisha Vijayan, who also starred in the first part.
Sardar 2 is the sequel of the 2022 spy thriller, Sardar, featuring Karthi in the lead role. The first part featured the actor in dual roles. It was written and directed by PS Mithran. Now the same filmmaker will direct the second part. Sardar 2 will have a massive ensemble cast comprising Karthi, SJ Suryah, and Malavika Mohanan. As said above, the team announced that Rajisha Vijayan, who played one of the female leads in the first part, will also appear in the sequel. The shooting for Sardar 2 has already begun. Sadly, the film was in the news for the wrong news recently, as a member of the team working on the film died due to the injuries he suffered after the accident on the sets. Stunt union member Elumalai fell from a 20ft rostrum accidentally and succumbed to injuries.
Sardar’s first part is available for streaming on Aha Tamil. S Lakshman Kumar produced the film under the Prince Pictures banner, and he will back the sequel now. Sardar tells the story of a spy who goes missing for several years but comes back to stop a malicious water company from being launched. In the first part, Karthi played dual roles, as a cop and his father, who was a spy and now in exile. Laila, Raashii Khanna, Chunkey Pandey, and others were also part of the cast. Whether these actors will make a comeback for the sequel needs to be seen. George C Williams ISC is the cinematographer, and Vijay Velukutty will serve as the editor for the sequel.
