Sabari, the first straight Telugu film with Varalaxmi Sarathkumar as a lead, is all set to arrive on OTT. The latest reports suggest that the popular digital platform SunNXT has acquired the film’s digital rights, and Sabari will be available for online streaming on its app starting October 11. This action thriller was released in theaters this summer (May) but became a failure at the box office.
Made as an action thriller, Sabari was released in theaters worldwide on May 3. The film’s story is about a single mother who faces many troubles from her past in order to save her child’s future, getting entangled in danger. From October 11, 2024, Sabari will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages on SunNXT. ANilkatz is the writer and director of the film, and it was produced by Mahendra Nath Kondla. Besides Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Mime Gopi, Ganesh Vekatraman, and Shashank played crucial roles in the film.
One of the South Indian cinema’s popular music composers, Gopi Sundar, has composed the music for Sabari. Upon its theatrical release on May 3, Sabari got poor reviews from the majority of audiences and critics. The reviewers opined that the film had an exciting premise and compelling performance by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, but the film’s second half dilutes the impact after a decent first half with flat-taking.
