Rivals is the latest web series that is all set to be released on OTT. The eight-part series, based on the popular novel of the same name by Dame Jilly Cooper, will soon make its digital debut. Set against the backdrop of 1980s Britain in a fictional town called Rutshire, it stars Alex Hassel, David Tennant, and Aidan Turner in the lead roles.
From romantic parts to sex and wit, the series has many elements, and it shows the ruthless world of independent television. Rivals, the eight-part web series, will be available for online streaming from October 18, 2024. Elliot Hegaty, the BAFTA-nominated filmmaker, has directed this web series, and he also happens to be the executive producer for 1-4 episodes, while Dee Koppang O’Leary and Alexandra Brodski have also directed other episodes. Dominic Tredwell, Laura Wade, and the team wrote the story of Rivals.
Bella Maclean, Danny Dyer, Kathrine Parkinson, Nafessa Williams, Emily Atack, Victoria Smurfit, Catriona Chandler, Oliver Chris, Rufus Jones, Lisa McGrills, Luke Pasqualino, Claire Rushbrook, and Gary Lamount played crucial roles in the series. Rivals tells the story of a former Olympain and MP, Rupert Campbell-Black, and his primary rival, Lord Tony Baddingham, along with the journalist and TV presenter who gets involved in the conflict between Rupert and Tony.
