Rajashekar, a seasoned actor, starred in a gripping movie titled Shekar, which made its way to the theaters in 2022. This film served as an authorized adaptation of the Malayalam film Joseph, with direction by Jeevitha Rajashekar. Shivani Rajashekar portrayed the role of Rajashekar’s daughter in the movie. Unfortunately, the film’s screening was abruptly halted two days after its release due to financial complications. However, the court later granted permission for the film to be screened once again.
Due to financial problems, Shekar has yet to be released on any OTT platforms. Consequently, OTT platforms have chosen not to secure the digital rights for the film. However, a well-known streaming service has recently acquired the rights to stream Shekar after its theatrical run. The report indicates that viewers can expect Shekar to be available for streaming soon.
The film’s story focuses on Shekar (Rajashekar), a seasoned investigator in the police force who decides to retire voluntarily following a personal tragedy – the heartbreaking loss of his beloved daughter Geetha (Shivani). Despite his retirement, he occasionally assists the police in solving complex cases. When his estranged wife Indu dies in a suspicious accident, Shekar becomes embroiled in the investigation. Through his inquiries, he uncovers startling revelations and exposes a significant scandal. The resolution of this crime mystery is at the heart of the narrative.
