Dhanush is making his second directorial venture with Raayan, his 50th film as an actor. Sun Pictures is producing the movie, which is said to be a revenge action drama. The film is scheduled for a big release on July 26th, and the censor and runtime information has just been revealed online.
‘Raayan’ has effectively passed the censorship process, obtaining an ‘A’ certification from the CBFC because of its gripping and highly violent action sequences. This signifies Dhanush’s first A-certified movie since ‘Vada Chennai,’ which still holds the record as his most successful film to date. Enthusiasts anxiously anticipate ‘Raayan’ to achieve mega-blockbuster status like ‘Vada Chennai.’ The movie ‘Raayan’ has a duration of 145 minutes and 12 seconds, which is equivalent to 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 12 seconds. As per the censor reports, the plot revolves around Raayan, a naive individual who gets entangled in a web of criminal activities and deceit. The renowned composer Isai Puyal AR Rahman created the film’s musical score. Dhanush stars in the main role of Raayan alongside a talented cast, including Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, Aparna Balamurali, Dushara Vijayan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, and others. The film is set to release in theaters on July 26th.
Moreover, Dhanush has joined forces with Sekhar Kammula for Kubera, a film that will be released in Tamil and Telugu. Additionally, he is slated to play the lead role in an upcoming biopic about Ilaiyaraaja, the iconic music director. Dhanush is also collaborating with filmmaker Aanand L. Rai for Tere Ishq Mein, a project in the Hindi film industry.
