Dhanush’s second directorial project, ‘Raayan,’ is experiencing remarkable success in cinemas. The film has surpassed the Rs 50-crore mark in net earnings within India and is progressing towards a gross of Rs 100 crore globally. Consequently, ‘Raayan’ is poised to become one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2024. Additionally, the film continues to perform strongly in theaters throughout the weekdays.
The movie Raayan was released in Tamil and Telugu on July 26. Though it received varied reviews from the critics, the audience lapped it up and made it a massive hit at the box office. On July 29, the film had its first Monday and performed exceptionally well. The Tamil version of the movie had an occupancy rate of 22.48 percent, while the Telugu version had 17.52 percent on July 30, its fifth day. Raayan collected nearly 6 Crores Gross in India on Day 5, and the film will cross the 100 Crore Mark at the Worldwide Box Office today.
This film is a significant milestone for Dhanush, as it is his 50th movie as a lead actor. He assembled a talented cast, including Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, and Saravanan in important roles. Produced by Sun Pictures, ‘Raayan’ features music by AR Rahman, with cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Prasanna GK.
