Prithviraj Sukumaran re starts the shooting of much awaited Lucifer’s Sequel

Prithviraj Sukumaran, the renowned Malayalam actor, has recommenced filming for his upcoming directorial project, L2: Empuraan, the highly anticipated sequel to his 2019 hit film, Lucifer. He recently shared a photo of himself on the set and the caption, “On to home turf next!”. Prithviraj has been occupied with numerous undertakings, which have kept him distanced from L2: Empuraan. Drawing inspiration from Murali Gopy’s script, the sequel film is anticipated to be rich in thrilling action sequences and delve deeper into the true persona of Mohanlal’s character, Khureshi-Ab’raam, a feared global criminal.

The second installment also maintains most of the supporting ensemble from its previous film, including Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran, among other notable actors. Having completed all his obligations related to these movies’ pre and post-release activities, Prithviraj has now shifted his attention towards his directorial project. Aadujeevitham was a project close to Prithviraj’s heart. He has been dedicated to the project since director Blessy first announced it in 2008. However, Blessy could not kickstart the project until 2017 due to financial limitations. Despite finally getting started, the project encountered numerous obstacles, such as the Covid pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns.

Aadujeevitham, a film based on real-life events, has proven to be a massive success in the Malayalam cinema industry. With a budget of over Rs 80 crore, the film received glowing reviews upon its release last month. Prithviraj’s performance in the movie has been unanimously praised by critics and audiences alike. It has already become one of the highest-grossing films in the history of Malayalam cinema, and it is expected to surpass the Rs 150 crore mark at the box office, surpassing even Mohanlal’s Lucifer. On the other hand, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, a Bollywood film, has faced a different fate. Considered one of the biggest flops in Bollywood history, the movie reportedly cost its producers nearly Rs 300 crore. It opened to poor reviews and abysmal collections. In this Hindi film, Prithviraj portrays the main antagonist, while Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff take on the lead roles.
