The story centers on Ruby, who cares for her paralyzed mother in a greenhouse that once belonged to her great-grandfather, set in a somewhat dystopian future. Their lives are controlled by Ruby’s abusive stepfather, a former hunter who used to work for her grandfather. A pastor also oversees their existence. When two unexpected outsiders—a police officer and a mysterious individual—arrive, tensions escalate, and secrets are unveiled. A series of strange and magical events related to the curse of a small turtle lead to a conflict between destruction and harmony on the disputed territory. The filmmakers have skillfully combined a unique narrative style with themes of capitalism, eco-fascism, love, and war. The visual approach further enhances the cinematic experience of the film. Although the movie has fewer dialogues overall, it still comes to life due to its powerful performances. The director mentioned in an interview with The Indian Express that some parts are treated musically, while others are influenced by art house film.
Ketaki Narayan, Neena Kurup, Rajesh Madhavan, Mano Jose, Jayanarayanan Thulasidas, and Nithin George play significant roles in the movie. Jayanarayan Thulasi Das is the film’s financial backer. Bijibal Maniyil composed the music for Prappeda.
