Kannada Film Powder had a good pre-release hype before its theatrical arrival. Directed by Janardhan Chikkanna and produced by KRG Studios, the film was hyped by industry insiders. Also, a star like Rishabh Shetty delayed his production, Laughing Buddha, to accommodate Powder, but all the efforts went into vain as the film became a failure at the box office. Powder is now going to arrive on OTT soon.
Powder was supposed to be released in theaters on July 12, and then it was postponed to August 15, but it was finally released on August 23. However, though the film’s team left no effort to promote the film, it did not get the deserved result. The success of Krishna Pranaya Sakhi, another Kannada film, dented the chances of Powder getting noticed by audiences. As it ended the theatrical run, Powder will make its digital debut soon.
According to the reports, the OTT giant Amazon Prime Video has bagged the film’s rights, and Powder will be available for streaming shortly. Made as a crime comedy, Powder failed to impress audiences. Many felt that though the film was presented stylishly, it did not have the right story or humor to make the proceedings engaging.
