‘Panchayat’ Season 3 Teaser Unveils Shocking Twist: Aasif Khan Replaces Jitendra Kumar

Amazon Prime Video’s Indian offering, ‘Panchayat,’ has emerged as a standout series since its inception. Set in a quaint northern Indian village, the show’s charm lies in its simplicity, humor, stellar performances, and widespread appeal across all age groups. The first season, released in 2020, became an instant hit, and the second installment, launched in 2022, continued to captivate audiences with its entertaining narrative and impressive viewership.

As a result, anticipation for the third season has skyrocketed, with fans eagerly awaiting its impending release. At a recent grand Amazon Prime Video event, attendees were treated to an exclusive sneak peek of the Season 3 teaser, unveiling an intriguing plot development that left viewers buzzing with excitement.

Prepare for a surprising twist: Aasif Khan, renowned for his viral meme-worthy dialogue “Gazab beizzati hai,” is set to replace Jitendra Kumar as the secretary of the Phulera Gram Panchayat.

The teaser reveals the return of Ganesh, portrayed by Aasif Khan, who made a memorable cameo appearance in Season 1 as a disgruntled groom embroiled in a confrontation with Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar), the series’ lead and former secretary of the Phulera Gram Panchayat. Despite not uttering the iconic line himself, Ganesh’s character has achieved meme immortality, forever associated with the phrase “Gazab beizzati hai.”

The Season 3 teaser depicts Abhishek’s transfer to a different village, while Ganesh assumes the role of secretary at the Gram Panchayat in Phulera. Interestingly, Ganesh is married to Raveena, the daughter of Phulera resident Parmeshwar (Shrikant Verma), despite his less-than-ideal experience in the village on his wedding day. How this dynamic will influence Ganesh’s relationships with the Phulera residents, the sarpanch Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), her husband Brij Bhushan Dubey (Raghubir Yadav), Prahlad (Faisal Malik), and Vikas (Chandan Roy) remains to be explored.

Season 2 of ‘Panchayat’ concluded on a somber note, with Prahlad’s son Rahul being martyred. Displeased with Abhishek, the local MLA Chandra Kishore (Pankaj Jha) orchestrated his transfer to another village. The show also features Sanvikaa as Rinki, the daughter of Manju Devi and Brij Bhushan, who harbors feelings for Abhishek.
