Obstacles Ahead for “Thandel”

Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming film, titled “Thandel,” is set to be the biggest budget project of his career. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and featuring Sai Pallavi as the female lead, “Thandel” explores the life of a fisherman set against the picturesque backdrop of a village and the sea. The combination of a compelling storyline and the star power of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi has generated considerable buzz around the film.

Initially, the makers of “Thandel” planned to release the film during Dussehra 2024. However, given the clash with several other major releases around the same time, they decided to shift the release to Christmas to avoid competition. This strategic move aimed to give “Thandel” a clear run at the box office. Nevertheless, the new release window has brought its own set of challenges, creating fresh headaches for the production team.

The first setback came with the postponement of Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated “Pushpa: The Rule” from August to December, coinciding with “Thandel’s” new release date. Adding to the complexity, Ram Charan’s “Game Changer” is also eyeing a similar timeframe. Allu Arjun, who stars in “Pushpa: The Rule,” is the son of Allu Aravind, who is also the producer of “Thandel.” There are strong indications that a new strategy might be in the works. Inside sources suggest that instead of pushing the release further back, “Thandel” might be preponed to an earlier date. It will be intriguing to see how the filmmakers navigate these scheduling conflicts and ensure a successful release for “Thandel.”
