Vennela Kishore played the lead in the film O Manchi Ghost, which was released on June 21, 2024. The horror comedy could not impress audiences and ended up as a big failure at the box office. Now, the latest update is that Aha Video has grabbed the OTT rights of the film for a tiny price. Reportedly, the producers found it tough to find a digital partner for the film, but Aha came in and closed the deal.
Shankar K Marthand directed OMG and made on a budget of less than Rs 5 crore. The film had a good star cast and the trailer was also decent. Still, OMG failed to click at the box office. Aha announced that OMG will be available for streaming from August 15, 2024. Aha conveyed the same through a crazy new poster on August 13, 2024, on their social media account. Shakalaka Shankar, Nandita Swetha, Navami Gayak, Naveen Neni, Rajat Ragava, and Raghu Babu played crucial roles in this film and Anup Rubens scored the music. OMG is about four friends who kidnap the heroine, played by Nandita Swetha, to make money. After kidnapping her, the friends group takes Nandita to a haunted mansion, unaware of the fact that the house has a ghost, which has a connection with Nandita. When the friends enter the house, they face trouble because of the ghost. Vennela Kishore’s performance received appreciation from the critics. His one-liners and the way he reacts to the ghost scenes in the film worked well.
However, many felt that the conflict point in the film was not handled properly. The flashback episode falls flat, as it does not provide the required emotion. It will be interesting to see when OMG is made available for streaming on Aha from August 15, 2024, how the OTT viewers react to it.
