Kalki 2898 AD, scheduled for release on May 9, 2024, is undergoing rapid post-production work. However, the makers’ plans have been altered due to the announcement by the Andhra Pradesh government regarding the assembly and Lok Sabha elections on May 13, 2024. Consequently, the release of the film has been postponed.

Over the past 48 hours, rumors have been circulating that the production company is considering May 30 as the revised release date for Kalki 2898 AD. This information is quickly gaining traction. According to the reports, the current date still needs to be finalized, and the news of a new release date is false. One insider from the film’s unit informed us that the makers are currently discussing with various distributors to secure a new release date. Although the date of May 30 was under consideration, the exhibitors were not enthusiastic about releasing the film that day. The latest update suggests that the makers aim to release the movie in the last quarter of 2024. Another industry expert believes that May 30 would be an ideal date for the release of the Prabhas-starrer, as the elections in AP would have concluded by then, and the government would be formed, eliminating any obstacles for the release of “Kalki 2898 AD”.
Reportedly, the producers are dissatisfied with the current release date due to the film’s nationwide release and the prevailing election frenzy in the country. There are ongoing talks, and an official release date will be announced soon. Nag Ashwin is the director of this film, which stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. Kalki 2898 AD is a superhero film with a budget of Rs 350 crore. The OTT agreement for the film is still pending as the producers are seeking a substantial sum.
