New Director for Mookuthi Amman Sequel?

Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman, released in 2020 and directed by RJ Balaji and NJ Sarvanan, was released directly on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar during the COVID-19 pandemic. The film received a decent response from fans and audiences alike. Mookuthi Amman explores the life of a middle-class character played by RJ Balaji, who encounters a Goddess portrayed by Nayanthara. The film blends devotional elements with a unique storyline.

While Mookuthi Amman has some similarities to Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God, it presents a different treatment, and its climax hints at a potential sequel. It has now been confirmed that a sequel is in the works. This time, the sequel will have a different director, with reports indicating that Sundar C, known for handling horror-comedy franchises, will take on the project with Nayanthara reprising her role.

Although the news is yet to be officially confirmed, Sundar C has delivered successful films in the past, and his recent film Aranmanai 4 received applause from audiences. The sequel will have a theatrical release, and it will be interesting to see how Nayanthara manages her busy schedule with her multiple projects.
