Netflix bags Allu Sirish’s Buddy Digital Rights

Following the release of Urvashi Vo Rakshasi Vo, Allu Sirish took a break, but he recently unveiled his next project, Buddy. Though there has been no official confirmation, it is being reported that this upcoming film is an adaptation of the Tamil movie Teddy, which features Arya as the protagonist.

The movie, helmed by San Anton, has once more garnered interest with its initial track, Aa Pilla Kanule, which was unveiled yesterday morning. It is also noteworthy that the popular digital streaming platform Netflix has acquired the OTT rights for the film. Buddy, produced by Studio Green Films Private Limited, features Gayatri Bhardwaj, Ajmal Amir, Prisha Singh, Mukesh Rishi, Mohammed Ali, and other talented actors in significant roles. With Hiphop Tamizha as the music director, the creators eagerly anticipate a suitable theatrical release date.

Teddy, a fantasy action film released in 2021, was both written and directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan. The film achieved great success at the box office and stands out as one of the few movies that consistently attract high TRP ratings during television broadcasts. The plot follows the journey of a human soul that inhabits a Teddy Bear and forms a special bond with the bear’s owner.
