The ruling YSR Congress leaders on Wednesday asserted that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu would get defeated in the Kuppam Assembly elections. They said that Naidu had done nothing for Kuppam in the last 35 years.Speaking to media persons, YSR Congress MLC Bharat, MP N Reddeppa, said that the YSR Congress government had given drinking water for Kuppam. Krishna river water is now flowing through Kuppam, they said.Kuppam was also made a municipality during the YSR Congress regime, they said. They further said that the school and hospital in Kuppam were developed under Nadu-Nedu programme of the YSR Congress government.
They took strong exception to Chandrababu Naidu’s call to women not to feed their husbands if they don’t vote for the TDP. The YSR Congress leaders said that Chandrababu Naidu was losing his mental balance. They wondered why is he giving conflicts in the family and why does he want the women to control their men unless he lost his mental balance.MP Reddeppa said that Chandrababu Naidu was getting people for his meetings in Kuppam from neighbouring Karnataka state, besides Krishnagiri and Chittoor. People were not coming for Chandrababu Naidu’s meetings in Kuppam, he said.He further said that the TDP had no local candidate to fight the Chittoor MP seat. Chandrababu Naidu had imported Daggumalla Prasada Rao from Bapatla and made the party MP candidate from Chittoor. He said that local people were not ready to contest on the TDP ticket and hence Naidu was getting them from outside.
MLC Bharat said that Chandrababu Naidu’s defeat in the elections was written on the cards. He said that local people were not following Chandrababu Naidu. They have rejected TDP in the local body elections and municipal election in the past. They are now ready to defeat the TDP in the Assembly election too, he said.
He further said that Chandrababu Naidu was scared of defeat and hence was for the first-time campaigning for himself. Chandrababu Naidu never campaigned in the constituency for himself in the past seven elections, he said. The very campaigning in Kuppam by Chandrababu Naidu speaks that Naidu is set to lose the election, the MLC said.
