Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday said that TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had stopped distribution of pension in the state. He alleged that the TDP chief had used former state election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar to lodge a compliant with the Election Commission on the volunteers.
The chief minister said that Ramesh Kumar had given a complaint to the Election Commission to stop intervention of village and ward volunteers in the pension distribution. Accordingly, the election commission had taken the decision to keep the volunteers out of pension distribution.
The chief minister said that the aged and differently abled persons were having big trouble in going to the panchayat office to receive pension. The chief minister said that his government had delivered pension at the doorstep for five years. People were happy with his government giving all benefits directly to the beneficiaries, he said.
However, he said that the TDP chief had stopped the distribution of pension by the volunteers. This had put thousands of pensioners in big trouble, he said. Meanwhile, former minister and YSR Congress MLA Perni Nani alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was behind the election commission’s decision to withdraw the volunteers from the pension distribution work. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu would do anything that works against the welfare of the people.
He said that the chief minister had given over 2 lakh new jobs to the people in the last five years. He said that even the opposition parties were now saying that 1.60 lakh employees of the secretariat. They were all appointed by the YSR Congress government, Perni Nani said.
The former minister said that Chandrababu Naidu had promised Pasupu Kumkuma and Rythu Nestham just before the 2019 general election. However, people did not buy his lies, the former minister said.
He wanted the people not to believe Chandrababu Naidu and the Jana Sena. He said that the two parties were known for telling lies to the people and making false promises.
