Munjya Director’s next film to be directly released on OTT

The Bollywood movie Munjya, featuring Abhay Verma and Sharvari Wagh, is experiencing tremendous success at the box office. Despite moderate anticipation, this horror comedy has surpassed all expectations by grossing over 60 crores net in India. It is projected to exceed 80 crores in its overall collection, defying all pre-release forecasts.

Following a successful second weekend, Munjya is still ruling the box office. The latest buzz is about Marathi filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar’s upcoming project, Kakuda, a horror comedy set to be released on ZEE5. Boasting a star-studded cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Saqib Saleem, the movie has already created a buzz with its motion poster release. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala under RSVP Movies, Kakuda is expected to ride on the wave of Munjya’s success and draw a significant audience.

Kakuda is set against the backdrop of Ratodi, a cursed village located in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. In this district, every house is equipped with two doors—one of regular size and another smaller. The story centers around a unique tradition that requires opening a smaller door in each house every Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. Disobeying this rule results in the wrath of Kakuda, who punishes the male head of the household. Let’s hope that director Aditya Sarpotdar has another success with Kakuda.
