Mohishashur Mordini, the latest Bengali film, is gearing up for its OTT release. As the Durga Puja is nearing, a lot of Bengali films are lined for release. In this regard, the Mahalya Special Mohishashur Mordini is all set to have an OTT version for the first time. Recently, the Bengali OTT platform Hoichoi officially announced the show and released the first look as well.
The makers state that Mohishashur Mordini is based on the age-old mythology of Mahamaya, and they are confident that the series’s content will be liked by Gen Z audiences. The series will be available for streaming on Hoichoi from October 2, 2024, which falls on Mahalaya, an auspisious occasion observed seven days after Durga Puja. Directed by Sayantan Mukhrjee, the series stars Rajnandini Paul in the lead role.
Mohishashur Mordini is based on the journey of Adhya Shakti Maa Mahamaya, who happens to be the powerful embodiment of the divine feminine. The series will show her various incarnatinos such as Vindhyavasini, Durga, and Mahishasurmardini as she ends the devils like Ghorasura and Mahishasura. The series also focuses on other aspects like Sati’s self-immolation and Lord Shiva’s wrath. Therefore, the Mohishashur Mordini series tries to attract modern audiences with its feminine power message along with mythological and spiritual elements.
