Mohanlal’s First Look from L2 Empuran is Striking

The makers of L2: Empuran have introduced the first look of Khureshi Abraam, the character portrayed by Mohanlal in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial, the highly anticipated second installment of the blockbuster movie Lucifer. This stylish thriller promises to be a pan-Indian action-packed film that will captivate audiences. On the superstar’s birthday occasion, the makers revealed Mohanlal’s look as Khureshi Abraam, generating immense excitement among his fans. While the previous film showcased Mohanlal as Khureshi Abraam towards the end, most of the 2019 movie featured him as a politician named Stephen Nedumpally. Empuraan, on the other hand, will reportedly delve into Stephen’s life as Khureshi Abraam and also include sequences set in the present timeline.

The poster also pointed out similarities to Rajinikanth’s Jailer in terms of the tone. Nevertheless, keen-eyed fans quickly observed that for Lucifer, the producers had disclosed a similar poster showcasing Mohanlal as Stephen Nedumpally, donning a white shirt and mundu, marching with numerous supporters towards the Secretariat. In contrast, Khureshi Abraam was dressed in black, representing Mohanlal’s character’s darker side. Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Nandu, and Saniya Iyappan are set to reprise their roles from the film, which is currently being filmed in Thiruvananthapuram. A leaked video from the set unveiled a scene showcasing Manju’s character at the National Investigation Agency office, suggesting that the movie will include grand crowd scenes reminiscent of Lucifer.

The movie has been filmed in various locations, such as Ladakh, Chennai, Kottayam, the US, and the UK. Once shooting in Kerala is completed, the team will move on to Gujarat and then the UAE to finish production. The release of L2 Empuraan is scheduled for 2025. In addition to unveiling the poster, the producers have also disclosed the release strategy. The movie will be released in theaters in five languages – Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Given the success of Malayalam cinema, L2 Empuraan has the potential to perform exceptionally well at the worldwide box office and could even become the first film to surpass the Rs 500 crore mark.
