Meiyazhagan is still fighting at the box office. The latest Tamil drama film Meiyazhagan, starring Karthi and Arvind Swamy in the lead roles, was released in theaters worldwide on September 27, 2024. The film opened to superb reviews from critics and audiences. After a decent first weekend, the film is still continuing to score in the same range at the box office, if not great.
The numbers in the weekdays were low, but the October 2nd and the latest weekend came good for the film. For 10 days, Meiyazhagan has collected 47 crore gross at the worldwide box office, and it will soon enter the 50 crore club. The film was also released in Telugu as Sathyam Sundaram, but its release was delayed for the next day, September 28, as the makers wanted to avoid the box office clash with NTR’s Devara. The Telugu version also received a good response and did decent business at the box office.
Meanwhile, the exact OTT release date has not been revealed yet, but it is confirmed that Meiyazhagan will be out on Netflix after its theatrical run. Meiyazhaghan is written and directed by C Prem Kumar, and it is produced by Jyothika and Suriya under the 2D Entertainment banner. Besides Karthi and Arvind Swamy, the film also stars Sri Divya, Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, and Saran Shakthi in supporting roles.
