On the day of Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan’s release, Vijay Milton, the director of the film, released a video expressing his surprise over footage added to the beginning of the film without his knowledge. He emphasized that the film was originally intended to raise questions about the hero’s identity and whereabouts, but now the introduction reveals crucial information about him and his backstory. Vijay Milton questioned the decision to include this footage in a film that had already been censored and urged viewers to watch the film without being influenced by it. He made it clear that he was not responsible for adding the footage.
