Story:

Subramanyam (Rao Ramesh) aspires to be a government job holder, but his dream gets stuck due to a court case. Kala Rani (Indraja) oversees the family’s responsibility and criticizes Subramanyam for being jobless. Their son, Arjun (Ankith Koyya), is a carefree youngster with no occupation. One day, 10 lakh rupees get deposited in Subramanyam’s bank account, like a miracle. Out of excitement, Subramanyam and Arjun use the money for their own personal use. Whose money is it? What dangers did Subramanyam face due to that money? The answers lie in the rest of the story.

Performances:

Rao Ramesh does a terrific job in the title role. It was an easy role for him, and he delivered a commendable performance. Ankith Koyya was also good and shared a good rapport with Rao Ramesh in combination scenes. Indraja was good, and Ramya Pasupuleti was also fine, while Harshavardham, Ajay, Praveen, and others were decent.

Analysis:

Director Laxman Karya took a simple storyline to make Maruthi Nagar Subramanyam. The characterizations and plot twists are not great, but they make an effect when needed. He concentrated more on the humor side and planted the emotional parts on a few occasions. He impresses with the way he handles the last twenty minutes, but he should have concentrated on the tonal incoherency and logical issues near the pre-climax. Overall, he did a good job as a debutant.

Positives:

Apart from Rao Ramesh’s excellent performance, the scenes between young pair Ankith Koyya and Ramya Pasupuleti work well for the film. Though the initial phase of the love track appears silly, it gets better as it progresses and shows the gradual development of their bond. The comedy scenes in both the first half and second half came good for the film, along with a proper impactful climax.

Negatives:

A few scenes appear repetitive, and a bit dragged feel enters in the latter half of the film. The entire episode of money transfer errors could have been dealt with more carefully. Also, the director uses a few characters to his convenience.
