Mukesh Kumar Singh, renowned for his work on mythological shows like Mahabharat for Star Plus, is set to direct Manchu Vishnu in the upcoming Telugu fantasy drama film titled “Kannappa.” This film is inspired by the mythological story of Kannappa, portraying the true tale of one of Shiva’s most devout followers. Produced by Mohan Babu through his production companies, 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment, “Kannappa” delves into the legendary narrative of devotion and spirituality, promising an intriguing cinematic experience for the audience.
The fantasy drama film “Kannappa” initially flew under the radar during its formal launch on August 18, 2023. However, it garnered significant attention and created a buzz in the industry when a star-studded cast, including Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Shiva Raj Kumar, joined the project. Nupur Sanon was initially announced as the leading lady opposite Vishnu Manchu, but she later withdrew due to scheduling conflicts. Rebel Star Prabhas is slated to portray the character of Lord Siva in this mythological narrative. Although there have been rumors of Lady Superstar Nayanthara joining the cast as Goddess Parvathi, no official confirmation has been provided by the filmmakers. Mani Sharma and Stephen Devassy are set to compose the music for the film.
In a surprising deviation from the anticipated norm of shooting mythological tales in India, the upcoming film Kannappa, which narrates the story of one of Shiva’s most devoted followers, has opted for New Zealand as its filming location. Vishnu Manchu, the lead actor, specifically chose New Zealand for its pristine and breathtaking natural beauty, aligning perfectly with his vision for the movie. Describing New Zealand as “one of God’s best paintings,” Vishnu Manchu aims to capture the country’s scenic grandeur to create a cinematic masterpiece. This unexpected choice has stirred curiosity and discussions among netizens, bringing an element of surprise to the film’s production.
Manchu Vishnu, who chose New Zealand as the filming location for Kannappa, is continuing the trend by scheduling a film update release on November 23rd at 10:15 AM New Zealand Daylight Time, which translates to midnight at 2:45 AM in India. This unconventional promotional strategy adds an element of unpredictability, especially for a Telugu film, and underscores the film’s global appeal as Kannappa is dubbed and released in multiple Indian languages.
