The Malayalam film O.Baby has finally reached the digital realm after prolonged anticipation. It is now accessible for streaming on Amazon Prime. Dileesh Pothan, Raghunath Paleri, Haniya Nafisa, Devadath V S, and Vishnu Agasthya delivered commendable performances in this movie. Dileesh announced the film’s release on the popular OTT platform through social media. “Experience the cinematic brilliance!” he wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.
Rajan Pramod’s film, O Baby, was released in theaters in June of the previous year and received acclaim from viewers for its portrayal of social inequality and the captivating performances by the cast. However, despite its success, the movie was kept from any OTT platform. It was one among several Malayalam films in 2023 that could not find a digital release. This drama-thriller marked the return of scriptwriter-director Ranjan Pramod, who had previously directed the film Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu, featuring Biju Menon, six years ago.
The film tells the story of Papi, a landowner who hires Baby as the overseer of his estate. As Papi’s great-granddaughter Mini and Baby’s son Basil develop a close relationship, Papi requests Baby to eliminate his own son due to the caste disparity between them. The storyline focuses on the drastic actions taken by Baby and Papi’s relatives, some aimed at protecting their child and others at preserving their family’s reputation.
