Amit Sharma’s most recent film, Maidaan, featuring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, was released in theaters on April 11, 2024 (with paid previews on April 10). Maidaan competed with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan at the box office, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Both movies premiered on Eid 2024. Ajay’s sports drama received an overwhelming response from both critics and audiences. It also had a satisfactory opening at the box office. However, the film experienced a decline in popularity on the fifth day.
Based on the reports by trade circles, Ajay Devgn’s film Maidaan experienced a decrease in its box office earnings on the fifth day. After making approximately Rs 7 crore on the fourth day, the movie only raked in Rs 1.50 crore on the following day. This marks the lowest daily collection for Maidaan since it hit the theaters. Ajay’s film has accumulated a total box office collection of Rs 24.50 crore. It is worth noting that the sports drama, which revolves around the life of former Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, had an opening of Rs 7 crore (including paid previews).
In the meantime, on April 15, the producers of Maidaan provided an update on the film’s global box office performance. The overall worldwide collection stands at Rs 31.86 crore (gross). The total sum, which includes the earnings from the fifth day, is still undisclosed. It is yet to be determined how swiftly the directorial venture of Amit Sharma will surpass the Rs 50 crore (gross) milestone in the international market.
