It is widely known that Superstar Mahesh Babu and Indian Cinema’s biggest director, SS Rajamouli, are collaborating on a mammoth project that will be made pan-India-wide with international standards. Recently, Rajamouli excited everyone by declaring that the film’s writing has been completed. Director SS Rajamouli is renowned for his meticulous approach to filmmaking, investing a significant amount of time in pre-production and pre-visualization to ensure a clear vision before shooting begins. Despite almost two years since the release of RRR, he has yet to start filming his next project with Mahesh Babu.
While in Japan, he attended a special screening of RRR, which is still playing in select theaters even on its 513th day since its release in Japan. At the event, Rajamouli briefly touched upon his upcoming collaboration with Mahesh Babu, stating, “We have finished the script and are currently in the pre-production phase. The lead actor has been confirmed as Mahesh Babu, who is incredibly talented. We aim to streamline the production process and hopefully bring him here for the film’s premiere.” He also mentioned that the rest of the cast, apart from Mahesh Babu, has yet to be finalized. The videos of the event in Japan show that Rajamouli is genuinely grateful for the love and support he receives from international audiences.
After a global blockbuster like RRR, it is inevitable that expectations for the next Rajamoui film will be sky-high. Also, his doing this film with Mahesh Babu takes the hype to the next level. Mahesh has not done any pan-Indian movies yet but has a considerable image and stardom in other languages. So, the trade circles and the audiences are now anticipating SSMB29 to be a landmark movie not only in the Telugu Film Industry but also in the history of Indian Cinema.
