Maharaja: Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th Film will make its Digital Debut on this date

Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film, Maharaja, managed to captivate both viewers and critics. The action-packed thriller, helmed by Nithilan Swaminathan, showcases the lead role of the National Award-winning actor. Additionally, renowned Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap played a significant part in the movie. Following its triumphant theatrical run, Maharaja will debut on the OTT platform Netflix on July 12th.

Vijay Sethupathi portrays the character of Maharaja in the movie, with Anurag Kashyap taking on the role of the main antagonist, Selvam. The film, co-written by Raam Murali, boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Sanchana Namidass, Mamta Mohandas, Natarajan Subramaniam, Abhirami, Bharathiraja, Divya Bharathi, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, and others in supporting roles. Dinesh Purushothaman serves as the cinematographer, B Ajaneesh Loknath as the music composer, and Philomin Raj as the editor. Maharaja is a Passion Studios, The Route, and Think Studios production.

The movie narrates the tale of Maharaja, a barber, who sets off on an unyielding mission for retribution following an unexpected burglary at his residence. The plot takes a mysterious turn when Maharaja informs the authorities that his ‘Lakshmi’ has been taken, causing confusion about whether ‘Lakshmi’ is a person or an object. The remainder of the plot delves into how he locates ‘Lakshmi’ and the reasons behind his unwavering determination to find it, facing challenges head-on. Premiering on the 14th of June, Maharaja received an outstanding reception from both viewers and critics, sparking excitement and anticipation for its OTT release. The Telugu adaptation of Vijay Sethupathi’s most recent film, Maharaja, has also succeeded at the box office, adding to the buzz surrounding the movie.
