Maharaja, an eagerly anticipated Tamil movie, is a significant milestone in the career of actor Vijay Sethupathi, marking his 50th venture in the film industry. This action-packed drama, directed by Nithilan Saminathan, is set to release on June 14th. The film has already garnered positive responses from the private show for the press, adding to the excitement among Tamil movie lovers.

The action-packed drama stars Vijay Sethupathi in the main role. Helmed by Nithilan Saminathan, the storyline follows a barber who visits a police station to file a report. He claims that Lakshmi has disappeared from his residence, leaving the authorities puzzled. The remainder of the movie delves into the case’s progression and reveals Maharaja’s real motives. The producers recently unveiled the film’s trailer. Although the released trailer showcases numerous action sequences and violent scenes, the initial one offers additional insight into the storyline. Vijay Sethupathi is portrayed as a hairdresser who visits the police station to report a missing person. The police appear perplexed about the nature of the theft, revealing that there is more to Maharaja’s life than just a simple robbery.

Nithilan Saminathan, who previously made his directorial debut with Kurangu Bommai in 2017, has written and directed the film. The project is headlined by Vijay Sethupathi and also features Bharathiraja, Abhirami, Mamta Mohandas, Singampuli, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Vinoth Sagar, Boys Manikandan, Kalki, and Sachana Namidass. Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy have bankrolled the film, while Dinesh Purushothaman is the cinematographer and Ajaneesh Loknath is responsible for the music. The edits have been done by Philomin Raj. The film, despite its violent posters, has received a U/A certification from the censor board, making it suitable for children to watch under adult supervision. Maharaja runs for two hours and 22 minutes and is described as an action drama with numerous scenes of bloodshed. Netflix holds the post-theatrical rights for Maharaja, but the streaming date has yet to be announced by the producers. It is expected that the film will premiere on the platform four weeks after its initial release.
