Madgaon Express reaches 25 Crores

Kunal Kemmu, recognized for his performances in Kalyug, Go Goa Gone, Lootcase, the Golmaal series, and 99, ventured into directing with his first film Madgaon Express. He pitched it as a relatable version of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara to producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, who were both captivated by the concept. Despite a humble beginning, the movie managed to rake in Rs 14 crore in its opening week. The film is still getting good numbers at the box office despite competition and now has crossed the 25 Cr Net mark in India.

The film’s third weekend saw a total of 3.4 Cr Net, which is a good number for a small film. Overall Madgaon Express has collected 25 Crores Net and 29 Crores Gross in India. The film tells the story of three childhood friends who have planned a trip to Goa. However, their plans don’t go smoothly, which adds to the comedic element of this film. Produced by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, Madgaon Express is directed by Kunal Kemmu. Interestingly, Kunal Kemmu also makes a cameo appearance in his film.

However, the journey of this Express will be cut short from April 10th onwards, with the release of ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Maidaan’ on the occasion of Eid. These films will have premiere shows, followed by a full-fledged release on April 11th. ‘Madgaon Express’, directed by Kunal and featuring Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, Avinash Tiwary, Nora Fatehi, Upendra Limaye, and Chhaya Kadam, marks Kunal’s directorial debut.
