Nizhal is a mystery thriller made in Malayalam. Starring Kunchako Boban and Nayantara in the lead roles, the film was released in theaters in 2021. It was made available on OTT after a few days on Prime Video. Now, after three years, the film has been dubbed into Tamil and it is streaming on another platform. Titled Maaya Nizhal, the Tamil version of Nizhal is now streaming on Aha Tamil.
Directed by debutant Appu N Bhattathiri, Nizhal also stars Izin Hash, Rony David, Saiju Kurup, and Lal in crucial roles. The film tells the story of John Baby, who is a magistrate and goes through some traumatic experiences whenever he meets a small boy who tells him murder stories. At first, John Baby and the boy’s mother think those are all just imaginative theories of boys, but it turns out that they are all actual events. The rest of the story is about how John Baby cracks the connection between the small boy and the murders happening.
The technical crew of the film includes Appu and Arunlal, who worked as editors of the film. Deepak D. Menon handled the cinematography department, and the film’s music was scored by Sooraj S. Kurup. Maaya Nizhal (Nizhal) has been backed by Anto Jospeh Film Company and Melange Film House in association with Tentpole Movies.
