M. Night Shyamalan directorial, Trap, the psychological thriller, is not out on OTT, but there is a catch. The viewers will have to pay Rs. 499 to rent the film on Prime Video if they want to watch and enjoy it. Shyamalan is the writer and director of this psychological thriller, which was released in 2024. The film received varied reviews upon its theatrical release, but it was able to collect over $80 million at the global box office.
The film’s story is partly inspired by Operation Flagship, a sting operation in 1985 that exposed 101 wanted fugitives at a convention center by offering them free NFL tickets and the chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Super Bowl XX. Along with Shyamalan, Marc Bienstock and Ashwin Rajan have produced Trap. Shyamalan made the actors in his film rehearse for their roles with the help of a storyboard artist.
Trap stars Josh Hartnett, Arieal Donoghue, Saleka Night Shyamalan, Hayley Mills, and Alison Pill and focuses on the story of a serial killer who escapes from the police who came to arrest him when he attends a concert with his daughter. As said above, though the film received mixed reviews, the film went on to become a successful film at the box office.
