Recently, Aashish Velamakucha’s “Love Me If You Dare” has been released and unfortunately, the film has received negative responses from both critics and audiences alike. Prior to its release, the film had garnered positive buzz thanks to its captivating music and impressive trailer, which set high expectations. However, what went wrong with the film has left many netizens puzzled, especially those contemplating whether to give it a watch.
One glaring issue with “Love Me If You Dare” is the lack of clarity regarding its ghost story. The filmmakers managed to spark interest with an unusual yet intriguing concept where the protagonist searches for the love of his life through a ghost. However, the film takes an abrupt turn, shifting its genre towards an unusual subplot that eventually overshadows the ghost narrative. This sudden shift left many viewers confused and disappointed, as it sidelined the unique premise that initially drew them in.
For those who haven’t watched the film yet, be warned that this contains spoilers. The character Samyukta’s presence during the interval shot and her character development could have potentially saved the film. The first half of the film sets up a promising story, but the filmmakers failed to capitalize on it by holding back crucial character development until the final moments, which seemed more like a setup for a sequel rather than a satisfying conclusion. This decision undermined the narrative coherence and left the audience feeling disconnected and unsatisfied.
