Lineman received extensive promotion before its release. However, regrettably, the Kannada-Telugu bilingual film failed to perform well at the box office. As previously reported by OTTplay, Amazon Prime has acquired the movie’s streaming rights. Excitingly, Lineman is now available to stream on Prime Video in Telugu.
The well-known platform refrained from revealing the launch date yet included Lineman in its collection. Lineman, helmed by Raghu Sastry, was initially scheduled for a release on March 15, 2024. Nevertheless, a minor setback in the Telugu censorship process resulted in the movie being postponed. Eventually, the film premiered on March 22, 2024, and unfortunately turned out to be a major disappointment at the box office. Thrigun, a skilled actor, debuted his Kannada in this film, playing the main lead role. The movie also features B Jayashree, Sujay Shastry, Harini Srikanth, Samarth Narasimha Raju, Kadri Manikanth, and Chetan Gandharva in significant roles. The storyline revolves around an electricity board lineman who refuses to supply electricity to a particular event, leading to various problems in the village. Despite being in the industry for nearly a decade, Thrigun is yet to achieve a major success. He has collaborated with multiple directors and even changed his name based on astrology, but these efforts have not yielded positive results. Thrigun has also appeared in two Telugu web series, Mee Mugguri Love Story and 11th Hour.
Yateesh Venkatesh and Ganesh Papanna produced Lineman for Purple Rock Entertainers. This rural drama contains some authentic scenes, with Thrigun delivering a genuine performance. For those who didn’t have the chance to see it in theaters, the film is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
