Land of OTT Release Details

Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria headlines a fresh comedy-drama titled Land of Women, featuring co-stars Carmen Maura, Victoria Bazua, and Santiago Cabrera, among others. This 6-episode series is adapted from the acclaimed novel La Tierra de las Mujeres by bestselling author Sandra Barneda, originally released ten years ago. The premiere will consist of two episodes on June 26 on Apple TV+, with subsequent episodes airing weekly every Wednesday.

In Land of Women, the story revolves around Gala Scott, a sophisticated resident of New York City. Gala’s life takes an unexpected turn when her husband, Fred, implicates their family in a financial scandal involving a staggering amount of 15 million dollars. As a result, Gala finds herself in a precarious situation when Fred’s business associates come to visit her. To protect herself and her loved ones, Gala is compelled to leave the city, accompanied by her elderly mother, Maura, and teenage daughter, Bazúa. The three women escape from dangerous criminals by seeking refuge in a wine town located in northern Spain. Coincidentally, Gala’s mother had fled to the same town 50 years ago. While attempting to begin a new life in hiding, they discover the challenges of maintaining their anonymity in a close-knit community where rumors spread quickly and long-buried family secrets resurface.

Eva will be featured in a recurring role in Only Murders in the Building, alongside her appearance in Land of Women. The fourth season of the show will premiere on August 27 on Hulu, and will also be accessible in India through Disney+ Hotstar. Carmen Maura, a celebrated Spanish actress, has received numerous Goya Awards for Best Leading Actress, which are considered Spain’s top film accolades.

Apple TV has recently included Land of Women in its lineup for June. On June 12, viewers can look forward to Presumed Innocent, led by Jake Gyllenhaal, followed by the captivating animated sci-fi fantasy series Wondla on June 28. Additionally, Fancy Dance, a drama directed by Erica Tremblay and featuring talented actors such as Lily Gladstone, Isabel DeRoy-Olson, and Shea Whigham, will also be available for streaming in June.
