Lal Salaam was one of the biggest disasters of Tamil Cinema. Released in February 2024, Aishwarya Rajinikanth directed the film, stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles alongside Superstar Rajinikanth in a crucial extended guest role. After the film’s debacle at the box office, it could not set up its digital deal. On August 27th, i.e., this morning there was a strong rumor circulated on social media regarding the film’s OTT release.
It was reported that Lal Salaam will arrive on OTT, Sunnxt, on September 20, 2024. The fans of Rajini were happy that their favorite hero’s film was arriving on OTT after six months of its theatrical release. However, the social media handles of Tamil Cinema have thrashed these reports as baseless ones. Some fans posted an edited pic of Lal Salaam with Sunnxt logo, and it went viral. So, as of now there is no official update about the OTT release of Lal Salaam.
A few months ago, Aishwarya Rajinikanth said that the reason for the film’s failure were the lost hard disks’ which had the shooting footage. Produced by Lyca Productions and music composed by AR Rahman, Lal Salaam was made as a sports drama that also deals with the issues like religious conflicts and village politics. The film received negative feedback from both audiences and critics.
