L2 Empuraan, the much-awaited action thriller featuring Mohanlal in the lead role, is one of the most anticipated upcoming films in Malayalam cinema. Directed by actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran, this movie serves as the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer. Recently, the team completed the Kochi schedule of this highly anticipated film. According to the latest reports, director Prithviraj and his team have commenced the new schedule of L2 Empuraan in Gujarat.
According to recent updates, the filming of L2 Empuraan has been meticulously planned, encompassing various well-known locations in both India and overseas. The most recent reports have verified that Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team have officially commenced the shooting schedule for the upcoming movie starring Mohanlal in Gujarat. Indrajith Sukumaran, the renowned actor portraying the character of journalist Govardhan in the film, is also part of this new phase of filming. A recent snapshot of the actor siblings at the shooting location has quickly gained popularity on social media platforms. It is worth noting that Mohanlal still needs to join the filming schedule in Gujarat. Mohanlal’s character Khureshi Abraam’s grand revelation occurs during Lucifer’s climax, which may be unfamiliar to some. In this pivotal moment, he confronts Sanghani, a prominent Gujarati business tycoon, and delivers an ultimatum. Interestingly, the renowned Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor makes a cameo appearance as Sanghani in the film. The conclusion of Lucifer suggests a potential Gujarati link in the upcoming sequel, L2 Empuraan. However, it remains undisclosed whether or not Shakti Kapoor will reprise his role in the sequel.
Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are making arrangements to shoot the outstanding parts of the action thriller in various foreign destinations, including the US and Dubai, in the coming days. Earlier, the actor-director, who also portrays Zayed Masood in the film, mentioned that he is prohibited from doing stunts until June 2024 because of his injury. The multi-talented individual reportedly intends to return to foreign locations in July 2024 to film some of the high-energy action scenes for the movie.
