Kurangu Pedal OTT Partner Details

The Tamil film Kurangu Pedal, supported by actor Sivakarthikeyan’s production company, Sivakarthikeyan Productions, will soon be available to stream on Aha Tamil, as announced by the platform. The exact premiere date of the film is anticipated to be disclosed shortly. Kurangu Pedal garnered acclaim within the festival circuit following its selection as one of the three Tamil films showcased in the Indian Panorama section of India’s 53rd International Film Festival.

The movie, directed by Kamalakannan, hit theaters on May 3, alongside Sundar C’s Aranmanai 4. It is a period drama that follows a group of schoolboys determined to master the art of riding a bicycle independently during their summer break. Kurangu Pedal stars Santhosh Velmurugan, VR Ragavan, M Gnanasekar, Rathish, Sai Ganesh, Kaali Venkat, Prasanna Balachander, Jenson Diwakar, and others. Produced by Sivakarthikeyan, Savitha Shanmugam, and SuMee Baskaran, the film boasts a musical score by Ghibran Vaibodha, editing by Shivanandeeswaran, and cinematography by SuMee.

Kurangu Pedal received a range of reviews upon its release, with some being positive and others more mixed. Critics acknowledged the film’s potential and the fact that it straightforwardly presented its themes. However, they also felt that it missed the opportunity to delve deeper into its subject matter. It is worth noting that Kurangu Pedal is one of the few recent Tamil films that specifically target children as its audience. In a previous interview with the media, the director expressed his belief that films centered around children may not always resonate with them. He acknowledged that children might even feel misunderstood when watching such films because their world and conflicts are different from those of adults. Despite this, Kurangu Pedal aims to address children’s issues on their level, providing both the child’s perspective and the parent’s viewpoint.
