Chase in the Dark is a Kannada thriller that took much time for its making, and it was released in theaters in July 2022. Debutant director Vilok Shetty made the film. Avinash S. Divakar and Radhika Narayan played the lead roles. The film is said to be an adaptation of the 2011 Korean film Blind. Upon its theatrical release, Chase received mixed reviews, with a section of audiences praising the director’s vision. However, another section felt the film’s subject was handled weakly.
The original Kannada version of the film is not on OTT, but the Marathi-dubbed version will shortly be available on OTT. Chase is titled as Kroor Sharyat in the Marathi version and it will make its digital premiere on August 23 on Ultra Jhakaas App. The film’s cast also includes Sheetal Shetty, Aravind Bolar, Arjun Jogi, Sushanth Poojary, Rajesh Nataranga, Aravind Rao, Pramod Shetty, Shwetha Sanjeevalu, Rehman Hassan, Veena Sundar, Sudha Belavadi, Usha Bhandary, and Sathisha Siddartha, among others. Kroor Sharyat’s story is about two cases that are connected to each other: one, a brutal murder in which a woman is chopped to pieces, and another, a hit-and-run, with a visually challenged person being the ‘witness’. An investigating officer is assigned to solve these cases, but he faces many challenges while solving the case.
After Chase, Radhika was seen as Janani in the Shivaji Surathkal franchise. Avinash recently announced that he will soon debut as a director with a period film called Rudrankusha. However, he has not officially provided any update on his directorial since then. Meanwhile, Avinash entered Kannada television with playing a lead role in Nanna Devaru, produced by Shruti Naidu, which also stars Mayuri Kyatari.
