Krishnamma Review

Story:

The movie starts with Bhadram (Satya Dev) and Koti (Laxman Meesala) getting released from jail and involving in a fight and Koti is assumed to be dead. The police starts investigating the case and the movie’s main plot revolves around their backstory.

Performances:

Satyadev’s character comes from a raw setup in Krishnamma. While he did justice as an actor, he could have performed better with greater depth in writing. Krishna Burugula, Athira Raj, Laxman Meesala, Nanda Gopal, and Raghu Kunche were okay.

Analysis:

VV Gopal Krishna has written and directed Krishnamma. An important episode from the film seems to be inspired from a real incident. Vijayawada is the backdrop in the film, and it is set in the year 2003. The screenplay of the film is old-fashioned and follows a predictable path. The first half has an entertaining touch while the second half gets more intense.

Positives:

The beginning of the movie is intriguing due to the crime setup. The director’s choice of movie setting and locality initially adds a freshness to the proceedings. The bonding between the lead characters gets thoroughly established, which is crucial for all the chaos that comes later. The interval block maintains the interest enough to anticipate the proceedings in the second half. The narrative becomes gripping in the initial second half.

Negatives:

Though, the film has a good emotional storyline. The impact is missing because of lack of connect with the characters. After a key twist related to the entire episode is revealed, interest slowly diminishes in the film’s narrative. The climax episode lacks the intensity as it doesn’t provide the required high, which it tries to attain.

Review: (2.25/5)
