The Tamil film Star, starring actor Kavin in the lead role, is scheduled to be released on May 10 in theaters. Directed by filmmaker Elan, known for Pyaar Prema Kadhal, the movie follows the life journey of a boy named Kalai who aspires to become a successful actor in the film industry. Alongside Star, Rasavathi, starring Arjun Das, and Uyir Thamizhukku, featuring Ameer in the lead role, will also be released on May 10. This film will mark Kavin’s first release of the year, following his appearance in the 2023 Tamil hit film Dada, where he portrayed a single father alongside Aparna Das.
The Star trailer was unveiled a few days ago by its creators. The trailer depicts Kalai’s journey, portrayed by Kavin, as he strives to become a film actor with all his might. Additionally, it showcased Kavin in different disguises, suggesting that the movie will explore different phases of his life. The film Star follows the story of Kalai, a man with dreams of becoming a movie star. However, his path to stardom is not easy, and it is filled with obstacles. The movie will explore whether Kalai is able to fulfill his aspirations. Elan shared with OTTplay that he drew inspiration from his father, Pandian, who is an actor while writing the script for Star. Kavin also mentioned that he felt a personal connection to the film, as many of the events depicted in it resonated with his own life experiences.
Kavin leads an ensemble cast in Star, which includes Lal, Geetha Kailasam, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, and other talented actors. The film’s cinematography was deftly handled by Dada cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K, while Pradeep E Ragav took charge of the editing. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who previously composed for Pyaar Prema Kadhal, has crafted the music for Star, adding another layer of depth to the film.
