Karan Johar announces Dhadak 2

Numerous rumors have been spreading regarding the upcoming revelation of Dhadak 2. At last, the anticipation ended as Karan Johar formally declared the continuation of the 2018 movie yesterday night. This time, audiences will witness a new onscreen duo with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. The film is directed by Shazia Iqbal and is scheduled to hit theaters on November 22, 2024.

In the announcement video, the eerie theme music resonates while showcasing graffiti that tells a compelling intercaste love story. Within the film, Siddhant takes on the character of Neelesh, while Triptii portrays Vidisha. The visual representation conveys the powerful message of “Dalit Lives Matter.” The movie is a remake of the Tamil movie, Pariyerum Perumal (2018), which discusses social inequality through a love story between a higher-class girl and a lower-caste boy. Delving into an unreciprocated love narrative, it delves into the barriers imposed by social status and hierarchy. Can such a scenario indeed exist? Dhadak 2, the upcoming sequel to the top-rated series, is poised to transport audiences on a global journey filled with emotional highs and lows of love, intrigue, and beyond.

Let’s not forget the success of the 2018 movie, Dhadak, a remake of the critically acclaimed Marathi film Sairat. It marked the debut of Janhvi Kapoor and introduced us to the talented Ishaan Khatter. The film struck a chord with audiences for its portrayal of love that transcends societal barriers. Siddhant, who is no stranger to Dharma Productions, is all set to reunite with them for Dhadak 2, following his appearance in Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan with Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday. Before we embark on this new journey, Triptii will grace the screens in the KJo-produced Bad Newz alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, an eagerly awaited film.
