Kantara Chapter 1 is one of the most anticipated films of Indian cinema in the coming days. The film is a prequel to Kantara, the massive pan-Indian blockbuster that was released in 2022. Not only the Kannada audiences but the entire Indian film audiences are eagerly waiting for this film. After a few months from the massive success of Kantara, the actor and filmmaker Rishabh Shetty announced the prequel to the film, much to the happiness of fans. Now, the release date of Kantara Chapter 1 is being discussed among the inner circles of major film industries.
Reportedly, the much-awaited prequel to Kantar will be released in theaters in August 2025. Though the film’s story or details regarding the plot are not revealed, it is being said that the film will focus on the origin saga of Panjurli, the much talked-about character in Kantara. Rishab Shetty has spent a lot of time on the pre-production and researched the subject before finalizing the script. The film’s major portions are being shot in Kundapur in a closely erected set. Recently, the film’s producer, Vijay Kirgandur of Hombale Films, spoke to the media after receiving national awards for Kantara and KGF. He said that Kantara Chapter 1 is slated to be released in theaters in August 2025. However, there is still no clarity on whether the film will arrive on Independence Day weekend or a week earlier to that.
There is no doubt that Kantara Chapter 1 will open to massive numbers across the world, as it has a superb craze. There were also a few rumors about the Malayalam megastar Mohanlal playing a crucial role in this much-awaited prequel, but neither Rishabh Shetty nor the producers have officially confirmed this news.
