Kannada Film Blink is now back on Prime Video

Several weeks ago, many internet users observed that the Kannada movie Blink, which had been available on Amazon Prime Video, had disappeared. The explanation given was a technical issue, and rumors began to circulate that the team was working on uploading a new file to the streaming platform as soon as possible. However, it took them three weeks to accomplish this task, as clarified by producer Ravichandran AJ, who emphasized that the delay was solely due to his team’s efforts rather than a deliberate action by the platform. Today, he took to social media to inform the audience that the film is once again available on the streaming platform.

Based on a report, the movie Blink was removed from the streaming platform due to a few music-related alterations. For instance, when the main actor, Dheekshith Shetty’s phone rings, it no longer plays a Kannada song as a ringtone but instead vibrates. Similarly, modifications were made to the scene where Chaithra J Achar and Gopalkrishna Deshpande sing old Hindi songs. The report suggests that the film team encountered possible copyright infringement problems and had to implement necessary adjustments. This process consumed a considerable amount of time for them. Blink, the first film directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru features Dheekshith as Apurva, a young man living in Bengaluru who juggles odd jobs, dabbles in theatre, and attempts to pass some previously failed PG exams. However, everything changes when he encounters an older man named Arivu, who reveals shocking information about Apurva’s father, long presumed to be dead. This revelation sends Apurva’s life spiraling out of control. The sci-fi storyline of the film involves time travel and also stars Vajradheer Jain and Suresh Anagalli, among others.

Despite being leaked on various piracy websites prior to its official release on the Indian OTT platform, Blink, the first film directed by Srinidhi Bengaluru, made a strong debut on Prime Video India in the middle of May. The film’s streaming performance, a testament to its popularity, remained largely unaffected. Ravichandra reported that Blink had accumulated an impressive 1 crore streaming minutes within the initial 4 days, a clear indication of its widespread appeal.
