The trailer for Kanguva, the big budget film presenting Suriya, was released recently. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the film is crucial as he faced a colossal disaster in the form of Annaatthe, his previous film starring Superstar Rajinikanth. The trailer of Kanguva received a superb response. It had some impressive visuals and showed that the film was made on a large-scale with a big story and intense action. Suriya and Bobby Deol play rival tribal leaders, according to the trailer.
However, there is confusion going around about the trailer. Kanguva was claimed to be a mix of different timelines, which was not clearly explained in the trailer. If we observe the trailer, it only has parts from the historical era, but the producer has said most of the movie is set in modern-day Goa and the period backdrop scenes last only for a few minutes. Additionally, Disha Patani, who plays the female lead, is completely missing from the trailer. It is obvious that her character will appear in the present time part.
So a section of netizens raises doubts about the length of the contemporary setting in Kanguva. If the period backdrop exists for more duration, it won’t be a problem for the makers if they sell only those portions. However, if the present time part has more length and importance, then they will have to build up those parts as well, as audiences will be in a clear mind regarding the film’s story and setting.
