Kaithi 2 will be a peak LCU film, says Lokesh Kanagaraj

Lokesh Kanagaraj is one of the star directors of South Indian cinema. The director has developed a star image for himself with filmmakers like Kaithi, Vikram, Master, and Leo. Currently, Lokesh is working on Coolie, the 171st movie of Superstar Rajinikanth. It is widely known that Lokesh has created a cinematic universe called “Lokesh Cinematic Universe” with Kaithi and Vikram. However, Rajinikanth’s Coolie will not be a part of LCU, and Lokesh Kangaraj spoke about the next film in his universe, Kaithi 2, along with Coolie in a recent interview.

The Telugu and Tamil audiences are eagerly waiting for Kaithi 2, the sequel to the massive blockbuster Kathi (2019), the origin film of Lokesh Cinematic Universe. According to Lokesh, Kaithi 2 will be the peak LCU film, with all the lead characters of the universe being involved in it. This revelation by the filmmaker has taken the hype of the film to the next level. Kaithi 2’s shooting will mostly start in mid-2025 after the release of Lokesh and Rajini’s Coolie. Karthi will be back to play the most loved character, Dilli, in this most-awaited sequel, and Narain, Harish Uthaman, Arjun Das, George Maryan, and others who were a part of the first part will appear in the sequel as well. Along with the Kaithi original cast, Kamal Haasan from Vikram and Suriya as the Rolex will also appear in Kaithi 2. Vijay’s Leo was also linked to LCU at the end of the film, but as of now there is no update about his character being linked to Kaithi 2.

Kaithi, the origin film of Lokesh Cinematic Universe, was released in theaters in 2019 and became a massive blockbuster at the box office. The film is available for online streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in the Tamil version, while the Telugu and Hindi versions are available on Aha Video and Sony LIV, respectively.
