Jigra First Week Collections

Jigra finished a low-key first week at the box office. The film was released in theaters worldwide amidst massive expectations, and it failed to resonate well with audiences. The excessive promotions, well-cut teaser, and trailer added the much-needed hype to the film, but when it was out in theaters, the response was not that great.

Right from its first day, Jigra failed to perform at the expected level at the box office. On its seventh day (October 17), the film could only collect around 1 Crore net in India, taking its total net collection for the first week to 22 crore at the domestic box office and the gross will be near 26 crore. This is such a disastrous number for a star-driven film, and the trade lost hope on the film’s second weekend box office performance. Jigra was also dubbed into Telugu, and stars like Rana Daggubati and Samantha came to the pre-release event of the film along with the renowned writer and director Trivikram Srinivas. However, the Telugu version of the film failed to cross even a meager number of 10 lakhs.

Jigra tells the story of a brother and sister who lose their father at a young age. Alia appears as Satya, and Vedang Raina as Anand. When Anand is imprisoned in a false drug case and is tortured in jail, Satya vows to save her brother, and she is ready to face any consequences to make her mission successful. Directed by Vasan Bala, the film also stars Manoj Pahwa, Jason Shah, Rahul Ravindran, and Harssh A. Singh in crucial roles, and it has been jointly produced by Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions and Dharma Productions banners.
