Indian 2, the much-anticipated movie helmed by Shankar, is gearing up for a grand premiere in July 2024. The return of the seasoned actor Kamal Haasan to portray his iconic character Veerasekharan Senapathy in the film has already set the stage for an exciting cinematic experience. Renowned actor Siddharth’s significant role in the movie has piqued the interest of fans, especially with the intriguing speculations about his character.
Siddharth portrays a young man battling against the corrupt system alongside his companions. Nevertheless, he enlists the support of Indian, also known as Veerasekharan Senapathy, when situations spiral out of control, leading to the latter’s comeback. Recently, rumors have circulated that Kamal Haasan will be reprising both his iconic roles in Indian – Senapathy and his corrupt son Chandru, in the upcoming sequel. The Ulaganayagan’s distinctive appearances in the movie have sparked speculation among online users that Chandru might come back in the sequel, given that his demise was not depicted in the original film’s climax, Indian. Many movie lovers on X (previously known as Twitter) are currently speculating about a theory proposing that Siddharth’s character might actually be the offspring of Chandru, the second character portrayed by Kamal Haasan. As a reminder, in the film Indian, the character was romantically involved with Aishwarya (portrayed by Manisha Koirala). Despite the approval of their relationship by Senapathy and Amrithavalli, the freedom fighter is ultimately compelled to eliminate his own son due to the revelation of the latter’s corrupt behavior.
The online community now speculates that Siddharth’s role might be that of Chandru and Aishwarya’s son. In a particular scene from the Indian 2 trailer, a tearful Siddharth is seen questioning an elderly Kamal Haasan. The character expresses, “Since my childhood, you have taught me to always be honest, fair, and ethical,” to the elderly man, who appears distinct from the iconic Senapathy. This revelation has led the online community to theorize that Siddharth’s character is actually addressing his father Chandru rather than Senapathy, also known as Indian. Several supporters of Kamal Haasan also propose that the noticeable disparity in the veteran actor’s appearance in the Indian 2 trailer is intentional, as he portrays two distinct characters. The individual Siddharth’s character converses with might still be very much alive Chandru, as even Inspector Krishnaswamy, portrayed by the late Nedumudi Venu, implies that it is the only case he couldn’t solve. Nevertheless, we will need to wait until the movie is released in theaters to confirm if this is accurate, as the producers have yet to respond to these speculations.
