The series, spanning eight episodes and set in Lahore against the backdrop of 1920s Hindustan, delves into the intricacies of human emotions, relationships, and the freedom struggle.
In “Heeramandi,” Sharmin Segal embodies a character entangled in the intricate dynamics of the palace. She happens to be Bhansali’s real-life niece. Her depiction of the daughter of a seasoned courtesan, portrayed by the talented Manisha Koirala, has garnered both praise and criticism. While Segal’s performance has been commended for its emotional depth and authenticity, it has also faced backlash. Some viewers and critics have pointed out moments of inconsistency and a lack of depth in her acting abilities.
